Manuel Montenegro's first novel comes after 35 years of seeing instead of saying. This photographer-adventurer-tightrope walker-burlesque performer spent his entire life without a clear purpose but observing the world around him and capturing it, for better or for worse, in still and moving pictures. He learned the hard way that things were not as gorgeous as they looked nor as hideous as they might have been printed for human eyes.
Now, he thinks he knows people and along a series of novels, he will portray life as it is; in pants down conversation; and, at the end, we might all be aware of the pathetic similarities that we all let somebody see and how much fun it could be when we become skilled at laughing at ourselves.
